Buckling of a String in a Plane

We study the dynamical stability of a shape of a string embedded in a plane. In some condition, a kind of buckling is observed. The cause of the buckling is found to be the instability of the equilibrium solution but the unstable region is very small near the critical point on which the equilibrium solution disappears.
