Calculations of Long-Distance Effects on Neutral K Meson Mixing with Chiral Lagrangian : Particles and Fields

Contributions to K_L-K_S mass difference from hadron intermediate states are estimated with the chiral Lagrangian method recently proposed by Bardeen, Buras and Gerard. Our estimations are made for single particle and two particles intermediate states which consist of the U(3) pseudoscalar nonet. A new kind of contribution which we call tadpole contribution is also considered here. The sum of these contributions is found to be 7〜30% of the experimental value depending on the cutoff acale and the strange quark mass.
