Generalized Projection Operator Method of Constrained Systems : Particles and Fields

The projection operator method of constrained systems is extended so as to be applicable to fermionic constraints. The generalized projection operator method is applied to the problem of quantization of a supersymmetric nonlinear sigma model. It is shown that the divergent terms appearing in the equations of motion of O(N) nonlinear sigma models disappear in their supersymmetric generalizations.
