∧ and Σ Single-Particle Potentials with Density-Dependent Effective Interactions

Single-particle potentials experienced by the ∧ and Σ in nuclei are calculated in a parameter-free way, using a microscopic density-dependent effective hyperon-nucleon interaction. The mean field becomes non-local because of the Majorana exchange character of the effective force. For the ∧, single particle spectra are similar to those obtained from a standard Woods-Saxon potential, while the r.m.s. radii are systematically larger due to non-locality effects. For the Σ, the calculated potential is much weaker. No bound p-state is predicted in light Σ hypernuclear systems.
