We argue that multiquark clusters in nuclei are not necessarily colour singlet configurations if the nuclei are probed at large Q^2. Employing the constituent counting rule and studying the effect of QCD scaling violation on the multiquark structure functions, we find that the four-quark cluster dominates the exotic component of the nuclear structure funcion.
