We extend the formulas for the inclusive cross section and the two-particle correlation function of high-energy heavy-ion reactions obtained in our previous paper so as to include the contribution of pion production. Expressions for these quantities are written in terms of the pion-pion, pion-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon scattering phase shifts determined from the analysis of scattering experiments. Using these expressions we calculate the pion-pion correlations and inclusive distributions of proton and pions. It appears that the contribution of the ρ meson resonance to the pion-pion correlation is very small because the threshold kinetic energy of ρ-meson production is fairly large. Our analyses for the pion inclusive cross section reveal that the finiteness of width of the Δ resonance plays an important role for the pion spectra in the low-energy region.
