Fractional Charges at Finite Temperature

Quantum numbers on solitons are studied at finite temperature. It is found that the thermal expectation value of fermion number on kinks or magnetic monopoles vanishes at sufficiently high temperatures. This result can be interpreted as the decoupling of fermions from solitons at very high temperatures.
