The tunneling process between classically stable vacua in the Φ^4-field theory is described by certain collective modes obeying approximately the Euclidean classical field equation. it is argued that the approximate modes become dominant in the large coupling regime. Quantum correction in the one-loop level is renormalized in a similar way to the treatment of pseudoparticle or instantons. It is shown that the tunneling process plays a crucial role in the effective potential and phase transition of the Φ^4-theory.
