The Bethe-Salpeter equation with a very strong instantaneous interaction is solved in the large-quark-mass approximation. It is found that the B-S ghosts do not appear and that the same set of meson levels as in the nonrelativistic quark model can be obtained by taking appropriate dependences of the potential on the spinor indices. It is also found that, by adjusting parameters contained in the potential, the resulting interactions between mesons can be made free from the super strong interaction irrespective of the number of mesons involved. Electromagnetic vertices of mesons are calculated, and it is shown that spins as well as orbital angular momenta of quarks contribute to the magnetic moments of the mesons quantities of order of e/M, M being the meson mass.
