t- and u-Channel Structure of Non-Resonant π-N Scattering Amplitudes at Low Energies

We analyzed the t- and u-channel structure of non-resonant amplitudes of low-energy π-N scattering, assuming the one-particle-exchange modes. We obtain good agreement with the experimental amplitudes with the ρ-coupling of normal strength and with the πN-coupling about half of the usual strength, which may be interpreted as a reflection of the duality structure. The result for the scalar-meson exchange is compared with the low-energy Pomeron introduced previously.
