Deep Inelastic Lepton-Nucleon Scattering and Rising Hadron-Hadron Total Gross Section in Modified Kuti-Weisskopf Model

A modification of the patron number distribution function is proposed, within the framework of the relativistic quark-patron model, so as to obtain better agreement both with the deep inelastic lepton-nucleon experimental results and with the recent FNAL and CERNISR results on the total cross sections for p-p and π^+-p scattering. The total cross section for hadron-hadron scattering is asymptotically given by A ln^2s + B ln s + C on a reasonable assumption on quark-quark interaction.
