The mechanism of breakdown of the SU_3 symmetry of hadrons is investigated in unified way by using the composite particle model and the hypothesis of modified baryon-lepton symmetry. The moderately-strong mass splitting mechanism is regarded as a result of the μ-e mass difference and the Cabbibo angle is introduced through the formation of electron-muon particle mixtures in the course of the baryon-lepton correspondence. Our assumptions yield a mass formula which can explain the tendency of the mass splittings among the components of the same isomultiplet as well as the Gell-Mann-Okubo mass relations. From the analysis of these isomultiplet mass splittings we find a rough estimate for the value of the Cabbibo angle; 0.17≳ sin θ≳0.14. In addition a comparison of two types of composite model, namely quark model and the quartet model, is given.
