An attempt is made successfully to refine the non-local field theory in a manifestly causal and covariant way. The motion of the non-local system as a whole is described on the viewpoint of the action through medium and considered to be governed by causal laws. On the other hand the internal motion of the system is treated on the action at a distance and regarded as being free from causal restrictions in the field theoretical sense. The form of interaction of bilocal field is assumed to be local with respect to external variables. The quantization is carried out after the Yang-Feldman method and elements of a unitary S-matrix are defined as the sole kind of physical observables. The theory thus constructed, being just one of the field theoretical formulation of the quark model, seems to be suitable for an overall description of phenomena including hadrons.
