In order to get some insight into the characteristic behaviour of nuclei in the high energy region, the concept of critical temperature of matter is used to investigate fully the particular case of nuclear matter of the a-particle type, which is composed of equal even number of protons and neutrons, by applying De Boer's principle of corresponding states. The result is T_c≃3Mev. This method gives also the nucleon density and the nuclear pressure at the critical point, 1/15 nucleons/y^3 and 1/80Mev/y^3, respectively. Discussions of these results are given.
