On the Quadrupole Moments of Light Nuclei

The values of quadrupole moments of light nuclei, which are calculated from the usual shell model, show unsatisfactroy agreements with experimental values, except for nuclei shell±one. Consistent interpretation of quadrupole moments of light nuclei having more than one nucleons outside the closed shell, with magnetci moments can be obtained by the configuration interactions with higher nucleon configurations.
