Applying the S-matrix formalism of statistical mechanics to the resonance scattering, the abundance of excited particles is investigated. In the case of the Boson-Fermion system such as the pion-nucleon system, the pion density in an excited state is found to be suppressed by the degeneracy of nucleons in contrast to the independent particle assumption for excited state. In the case of the Fermion-Fermion system, Bose-condensation of excited particles is found to occur above some critical density, at which the sum of the chemical potentials equals to the mass of the excited particle.
