Veneziano Model for K-Meson Decays

We investigate the decay amplitude of K-meson on the basis of the Veneziano model, and examine our model by comparing its result with that of the effective chiral Lagrangian. We construct the Veneziano amplitudes for πK→πK_A and πK→πK^* scatterings. Then, (I) the form factors in the K_<j4> decay are explicitly given by correlating them with the scattering πK→πM (M=K, K_A and K^*), (II) the decay amplitude for K_&kt;3π> is also given by correlating it with the scatterings π-π, π-K, ππ→πA_1 and πK→πK_A and (III) there are some remarks on the K_&kt;2π> and K_<l3> decays. In the approximation of the Veneziano amplitude to the first order of s, t and u, the contributions of π-K and π-π scatterings to the form factors in K_<l4> and the decay amplitude for K_<3π> take the same forms as those of the chiral Lagrangian. The contributions of πK→πK_A and ππ→πA_1 scatterings depend on the values of g^<(a)> and g^<(a_1)> which are, in principle, determined by the coupling constants, and also whether or not the σ- and k-mesons should be neglected.
