The F/D ratios of baryon resonance decays into the J^P=1/2^+ -octet baryon and pseudoscalar meson are determined on the basis of the non-relativistic quark model. The classification of the odd parity baryon resonances into the (70,3)^--supermultiplet of [SU(6) × O(3)]^<Parity> group is made in comparison between our calculated F/D ratios and the experimental data. It is found that the (70,3)^--classification gives a reasonable interpretation for the odd parity baryon resonances. In particular, the spin-parity of Ξ^* (1930 MeV) is most probably J^P=5/2^- in our approach. However, N^*_<1/2> (1700 MeV) is not classified into (70,3)^--supermultiplet for various reasons such as the F/D ratio, the mass and the total decay width. In addition, a short discussion is made on the even parity baryon resonances using the F/D ratios.
