A geometrical model, suggested from the analyses of photo-pion production, is applied to nucleon Compton scattering. The t-dependence of the s-channel amplitudes prescribed by the model yields a sum rule for the π^0 lifetime. The geometrical model "explains" the difference of the Pomeron and the ordinary Regge intercepts, the s-channel helicity conserving Pomeron and the vanishing longitudinal cross section by introducing an absorbing "disc".
