本学学生の子どもへの関心と子ども理解の変化 : 小児看護学の講義前と実習後の質問紙による比較から

The aim of this study was to clarify the changes in students' interest in children and understanding of them, which was the most basic goal of Child Health Nursing through the experience of attending the lectures, seminar and clinical practice; and to consider Child Health Nursing Education The subjects of this study were 72 students who had registered to take the courses. A pre-course and a post-course questionnaire were administered. Both questionnaires were designed more or less identically, and included structured and open-ended questions Responses were analyzed in four categories relating to the students' learning objectives: the child's stage of growth and development, the child's state of health; the influences of the disease, treatment and hospitalization; and the condition or function of the child's family. According to the results, almost all students responded that they liked children and had an interest in them, both before and after the clinical practice. Almost all students had had previous experience of contact with a child; however, only 13.8% had had frequent contact. The number of responses was clearly increased after the clinical practice After considering the increase in all four categories, we surmised that the students had recognized their goal, which they were required to reach during the clinical practice. The descriptions of the influences of the disease, treatment and hospitalization were most numerous before attending the lectures, but after the clinical practice, the descriptions of the condition or function of the child's family were significantly increased.
