• I have already reported about "Tsu-Han's Naval Defense and the Education of Swimming and KANKAI-RYU" in AICHI BUNKYO UNIVERSITY REVIEW Vol. 2 in 1999. The purpose of this study is to show how the swimming was tought to various clans people in Mie Prefecture in the Edo Period. I investigated how the samurai class in Ise's country (Mie Prefecture) was interesting in swimming after the Shogunate ordered their own coastal defenses to each clan in the end of the Tokugawa regime.
