Some curriculums whose subjects are concerned with human being have been developed since '60's. These curriculum developments should be essential to curriculum reform of today. This paper is a part of study inquiring into what the relevant aims and contents of "Human-Subject Curriculum" are, and how to reconstruct its subject matters and learning activities. These problems have been taken up in '60's, and one of good examples of which is "Man; a course of study" (called "MACOS" for short) developed in '63-'70. The first aim of this paper therefore is to analyse the process and the beginning plan of MACOS development, especially the Bruner's planning paper ('65). The second is to make clear the nature and characteristics of units reconstruction of developed MACOS ('70), which was said to be based on "Brunerian-approach". From the results of these analyses, MACOS's significance of today should consist in its nature of units reconstruction that enabled children to have an insight into the continuity between animals and human being, whereas the historicity of human being could not be realized, and the present author thinks that its realization is one of the problems awaiting solution.
