<報告>中国内蒙古での3年間(1998〜2000年)の植林ボランティア活動報告書

In 1998-2000 I went to the Desert District of Inner Mongolia China with young Keiai University students in order to plant trees there once a year. Our destination is Engebei near the city of Baotou which is about 850 kilometer far from Beijing and is located in the northern Ordos District. We worked there for three or four days each year in such a way that we first dug the ground in a line and secondarily planted young poplars (populus alba var pyramidalis Bunge) and finally watered each of them. This work is simple indeed, but it is very heavy under the high temperatur (35℃). The tree planting is a kind of means against desertification in this district. Our students have appreciated through thier works that the environmental preservation is very important for human being. In this respect, I think that our volunteer tree planting in China also is a kind of means for environmantal education. The number which was taken part in these volunteer is as follows. In 1998 there are 19 persons, of which 10 persons are our Keiai University students. In 1999,23 persons, of which 19 are our studens, including one overseas student form China. In 2000,16 persons, of which 9 are our students, including two overseas students form China.
