The temperature fields of a concentric and eccentric horizontal annuli filled with atmospheric air, were made visible by aid of Mach-Zehnder interferometer for Grashof number 2×10^3-3×10^4. An experimental study has been conducted to determine the influence of eccentricity and Grashof number on natural convection heat transfer through a fluid bounded by two horizontal isothermal cylinders. The experimental results show the heat transfer using the concentric geometry is given by N^^^-u=0.22・Gr^<1/4> for Grashof number 2×10^3-3×10^4 in the regions of conduction and laminar convection. In case of the upper eccentric geometry it was confirmed that the distribution of local Nusselt number differs from one of the concentric and lower eccentric geometry.
