In this study, conditions of 522 men's health (ages of 40 to 70), who were working as men of sound health, were examined from view point offlactuations in serum protein. The results are summarized as follows : 1. Comparison of the results obtained by using a conventionl overall diagnosis for examination of adult diseases and those obtained from checking serum protein by adopting paper electrophoresis : The results of conventional overall diagnosis (408 cases or 78% and 114 cases or 22% for normal and abnormal serum proteins, respecctively) and those of paper electrophoresis (231 cases or 44% and 291 cases or 56% for normal and abnormal serum proteins, respectively) showed that the latter method was higher inabnormal valuethan the former method. 2. It is suggested that the results of A_1 group, 106 cases (20%) as shown in table 2,seem to be equivalent tonormal valuein the present study, 3. One hundred twenty five cases (23.9%) in A_2 group as shown in table 3,did not present any statistically significant differences at 93% level of probability compared to A1 group. 4. The groups such as B_1 (tables 4 and 8), C_1 (tables 5 and 8), D_1 (tables 9,16,17,and figures 2 to 7), A_4 (tables 0,15,16 and 17), B_2 (tables 11,15,16 and 17), C_2 (tables 12,15,16 and 17), D_2 (tables 13,15,16 and 17), Injudicable 2 (table 14) presentedabnormal valuesin their partial or all serum protein fractions. 5. As a result of above mentioned 4 points, the physiological and clinical significance of serum protein fractionation in the examination of men's adult diseases should be evaluated more highly. It is therefore suggested that this new method (paper electrophoresis) be added to the conventional methods.
