It is not unusual that there are some tests which are not selected in common by the examinees in entrance examinations. In the case of Faculty of Engineering, Yamanashi University, each examinee take four major subjects (Japanese, English, mathematics, and natural science) in common, but select one of five minor tests in a major subject called social science. Then, such minor tests should be "fairly" designed in a sense like the equal level of difficulty. In this paper, two methods are shown to be effective through the analysis of the actual data over four years, in order to check the "fairness", or "validity" between the minor tests, although such terms are very difficult to be clearly defined. One of the methods mentioned above is to fit the loglinear models for multiple contingency tables and another is to observe the patterns in the distribution of the stratified test data.
