It has been found that a large grain boundary migration occured during fatigue at room temperature in zinc Polycrystals. In some cases, rows of pits and grooves which arised from the joining of pits were observed on the traces of the moved boundaries. These grooves might be considered to be the cause of fatigue failure. Therefore, it is important to study the cause for grain boundary migration. As a first step to understand the mechanism of the grain boundary migration, the orientation dependence of grains which invaded or which were invaded has been studied. The main results are as follow : - (1) The C-axis of the crystal which invaded lies nearly parallel to the surface of the specimen however, no rule has been found in the case of grains which were invaded. This might indicate that crystal grows in the direction parallel to the C-axis of the crystal during fatigue. (2) The large part of the moved grain boundaries are medium-angle grain boundaries. (3) The angle between the C-axis of the crystal which invaded or which was invaded and the direction of the specimen axis has not a definite value.
