This paper describs a new method for simulating the relation between positioning accuracy and a feed screw's pitch error in machine tool. Although on the load distribution in a threaded connection some papers have been already reported, the influence of threaded pitch error in meshing upon the positioning error has not been described at all. By applying this simulating method to a squre thread connection, it is ascertained that the positioning error on a loaded condition decreases to about 30 % of that on a non-loaded condition.
