An Isolation Amplifier is a device with the primary function of providing ohmic isolation between the input signal circuitry and the output circuitry of the amplifiers, and it is generally composed by the two majour circuitries, one is the input circuitry and the other is the isolated output circuitry. An important feature of an Isolation Amplifier is that it has a completely floating input which helps to eliminate cumbersome connections to source ground in several applications. When the Isolation Amplifier is composed by using a VFC and a FVC as it is called VF-FV Isolation Amplifier, such problems are existed as poor linearity for low input voltage region and considerably large temperature drift fo the output voltage. In this paper a new type of the VF-FV Isolation Amplifier with a feedback circuitry by using the Observer FVC to solve above mentioned problems is presented. From the experiments the following characteristics are obtained; (1) The linearity error is less than ±0.5[%] when the input voltage is ranging from ±10[mV] to ±10[V]. (2) The coefficient of the temperature drift of the output voltage is 0.0027[%] when the temperature is ranging from 0[℃] to 70[℃]. (3) Very high response time as 1 [ms] for fullscale step input voltage is observed. The theoretical analysis on the frequency characteristics and the temperature drift of the output voltage of the new type of the VF-FV Isolation Amplifier are also included in this paper.
