Cell-free extracts of Moloney sarcoma were made by a convenient method and could induce tumors easily. The extracts (FV) stored at -18℃ for a month after extraction from the sarcoma with 0.85% NaCl solution had rather stronger titers than stored at 4℃ for a month after the extraction followed by the vacum refrigeration drying. BALB/C mice were inoculated with 10^<-1>, 10^<-2>, 10^<-3> dilution of Moloney sarcoma virus (MSV) extract at 25-51 days old and 175/187 induced tumors. Of tumors induced 3/175 regressed completely. Latency periods to tumor detection were 5-12 days and latency periods to disappearance of palpable tumors were 13-24 days. The growth rate of primary Moloney sarcoma virus-induced tumors increased with the does of MSV in a single litter of mice and varied with litters of BAL B/C mice doesed with a dilution. Two urinary enzymes activities of four litters of 41-42 days old mice were estimated before the inoculation with MSV extract 1/2×10^<-2>. In a little-mate of mice the activities appear to have a relationship to the latency period to the tumor detection, but each litter of mice had different resistance to the tumor induction.
