<原著>抗ヒトサイログロブリン・モノクロナル抗体による甲状腺乳頭癌の免疫組織化学的研究

In recent years, interest has developed in thyroglobulin (Tg) as an important factor in elucidating the pathology of struma. Particularly Tg is thought to play the role of tumor marker in papillary carcinoma. This study was performed to investigate the distribution of Tg in the tissues of normal thyroid and papillary carcinoma, and also to investigate the differences in Tg of these tissues. The method used was the immunohistochemical technique with mouse polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies (Poly-Ab, Mono-Ab) as anti-human-Tg-antibodies. Reactions for Tg to Poly-Ab revealed that Tg was highly concentrated in follicular colloid of both normal tissue and papillary carcinoma, and that a small amount of Tg was present in normal follicular cells and carcinoma cells. The present studies also demonstrated that the Mono-Ab derived from the struma of Basedow's disease could suppress the non-specific reaction of immunohistochemical method, and that some Mono-Ab's derived from papillary carcinoma were more specific to papillary carcinoma cells than other Tg-antibodies. This finding indicates the possibility that some immunological differences were present between the thyloglobulins of normal follicular cells and of carcinoma cells.
