A new expression for stage II A(60 to 100K) recovery in cold-worked aluminium has been developed. Wires of 99.999at.%Al and Al-Ge dilute alloys were deformed about 10% in length at 4.2K. The electrical resistivity after isochronal annealing was measured at 4.2K. The recovery curves consisted of two different sub-peaks at about 75 and 90K. The recovery peak at about 90K was suppressed effectively by Ge atoms. Using a new approximation technique, the estimated values for germanium concentration are 60 and 30 times that found by chemical analysis for Al-0.005at.%Ge and Al-0.032at.%Ge, respectively. An interpretation of these recoveries is made in terms of pipe diffusion of vacancies along dislocations.
