Acremonium Celluloyticus was obtained from Fermentation Research Institute, Agency of Indus-trial Scienceand Technology, Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Acremonium Celluloyticus produces some of the cellulases which hydrolyse celluloitic materials, such as scrapped woods, old newspaper, rice plantstraw and others. The cellulases showed high activities of both endglucanase and exogulucanase. In this paper the growth conditions of the culture and the activities of cellulases were examined. Finely divided rice straw or finely divided old newspaper by ballmilling was used in the medium as a carbon source.
