Laminated damping steel sheet is composed of two skin sheets and an intermediate resin layer, and used for supressing vibration and noise. When it is bent, shape faults such as springback and "sea gull dcfect" take place hmdermg the increase of rts use. A new bending process has been devel- oped, in which frictional force stretches outer skin sheet and prevents the occurrence of the above mentioned shape faults. Frictional force is given by a hard rubber sheet or a separated sliding steel die placed between damping steel sheet to be bent and conventional die. Both springback and sea-gull defect do not take place at all and satisfactorily accurate bending is achieved under certain bending conditions.
