The fuel cell has several advantage including high overall energy efficiency, suitable environmental compatibility and less restriction in the utilization. The fuel cell is, therefore, expected to be a new energy source in the coming next generation, such as power source for the vehicle with high output density obtained even at a room temperature. In this paper, single electrode performance of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEFC) including polarization properties was studied. For I-V measurments a test fuel cell was actually constructed as before. Quantitative detailed analysis were carried out using an equivalent circuit for each electrodes. Factors, which decline the cell performance, were considered using circuit constants derived. As a result, we found that a dominant factor for decreasing cell performance was a concentration polarization in the cathode generated.
