Wavelet Analysis of Tree Patterns

In this paper the wavelet analysis in two dimensional space is carried out for tree patterns generated in a solid insulating material. It is suitable to apply the analysis to the patterns with a local and statistical self-similar structure. Haar function is used in this analysis as an analyzing wavelet, and two types of tree patterns : tree-type and bush-type tree are considered. From the analysis, the distribution of wavelet coefficients were found different depending on the tree patterns. For the bush-type tree, the coefficient was found very small in the center with an almost constant density of trees. However, the coefficient exhibited a large value in the boundary of the pattern. For the tree-type tree, however, such notable features were not found.
