Nebaliella brevicarinata sp. nov. (Leptostraca, Nebaliacea) is described on the basis of a single female, which was collected by the 27th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-27) from the bathyal depths, off the Princess Ragnhild Coast. The new species is easily distinguished from three known species of the genus by having a well marked vertical short carina near the anterolateral lower angle of the carapace.
