The distibution function deformed by a monochromatic plasma wave with a finite amplitude in a rare collision plasma, first derived by Zakharov and Karpman (1962), is re-examined. A like-particle collision operator is used which satisfies the requirement of momentum conservation. A current threehold larger than that obtainable from the previous distribution is obtained while the energy loss of the wave is exactly the same in both calculations. A discussion on application of this theory to a current drive by a general plasma wave will be briefly given.
