We reported electron microscopic findings of melanocytes from sun-protected (upper inner arm) and sun-exposed (dorsal forearm) sites of a 103-year-old woman. In this observation, we noticed following 4 points of alterations of the melanocytes from the dorsal forearm skin compared to those from the upper inner arm : 1) irregular shape of melanocytes, 2) irregular outline of nuclei, 3) more vacuoles in the cytoplasm, 4) increased numbers and size of melanosomes in the cytoplasm.
