• Seventy six species of lichens are reported for the first time from Mt. Takao, Central Honshu, Japan. Among them, Graphis batavana is the second report for the species. Remarkable range extensions are noted for Agonimiiella pacifica and Cladonia pseudodidyma, which are only known from few localities in Japan. Lichen flora of Mt. Takao is considered to be characterized by the higher percentage of species which are common in lowland throughout Japan. Several species of fruticose lichens, such as Bryolia, Ramalina, and Usnea which are common on tree bark in Japan are completely lacking in this area.
