The experimentally developed thermoesthesiometer incorporating Peltier thermal-modules facilitates the setting of a constant rate of temperature shift. It is capable of measuring the skin temperature of the body. It facilitates the measurement of thermoesthesic warmth threshold in the temperature rising sequence. It also enables one to measure the thermoesthesic cold threshold measurement from the same skin temperature in the temperature declining sequence. Further, by changing the skin temperature by immersing the hand in cold water, the warmth/cold thermoesthesic thresholds are measured. The relation between the skin temperature and thermoesthesia has been studied. The correlation between skin temperature and thermoesthesic warmth threshold T_w was found to be comparatively high, while that between skin temperature and T_c (thermoesthesic cold threshold) was negligibly low.
