• The Ogasawara Islands are situated in the Pacific Ocean about 1000 km south of Tokyo. Surveys of the land snails fauna of the Ogasawara Islands were made in July-August 1973 and June 1977 by auther. In the present paper, the authre listed eight species of Mandarina from the Ogasawara Islands, and taxonomically revised, including the description of a new species. The genus Mandarina were endemic and may be viewed the origin of Southern China. They can be distinguished by the following key. 1. Shell imperforate......2 Shell umbilicate......3 2. Body whorl rounded at the periphery and without spiral sculpture; Mukojima, Chichijima and Hahajima Islands.....M. mandarina (SOWERBY) Body whorl angular at the periphery and shell surface coarsely decussate; Hahajima......M. ponderosa PILSBRY 3. Umbilicus narrower......4 Umbilicus wider......5 4. Shaell low conical, lusterless, with fine spiral sculpture and color bands. Arboreal; Hahajima.......M. hahajimana PILSBRY Shell conical, glossy, olive in color without fine spiral sculpture and color bands. Arboreal; Chichijima.......M. suenoae n. sp. 5. Shell smaller, less than 25 mm. in diameter and without color bands......6 Shell larger, more than 35 mm. in diameter......7 6. Shell periphery round; Chichijima. M. hirasei PILSBRY Shell periphery carinate; Hahajima......M. exoptata PILSBRY 7.
