Density Dependence of the Longitudinal Diffusion Coefficient of Electrons in Xenon

The longitudinal diffusion coefficient of electrons and the ratio of the longitudinal diffusion coefficient to the mobility of electrons were measured for the first time in high-density gaseous xenon in the extensive density range of 4.19\times 10^{19}--4.82\times 10^{20} cm-3. The density dependence of the longitudinal diffusion coefficient was observed in the reduced electric field range of 0.025--0.055 Td.
