• In 2004, Anisimkin found numerically and verified experimentally peculiar (quasilongitudinal, QL) modes propagating along the $x$ (diagonal) axis in a quartz ST cut plate. Gulyaev conducted further studies, also numerically. This paper presents a mathematical analysis. A formula to yield "allowed" bands for QL-modes is obtained. The formula also covers newly found quasishear (QS) modes.
