In this paper we investigate the effect of error propagation by reconstructing the full property matrix of [001]-poled Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3–(6–7)%PbTiO3 single crystal of [110] length cut by direct measurement of $s_{12}^{\text{E}}$ elastic constant instead of deducing it from the expression which is a function of $s_{11}^{\text{E}}$, $s_{13}^{\text{E}}$, $s_{33}^{\text{E}}$, and $c_{33}^{\text{E}}$. Here, $s_{12}^{\text{E}}$ is obtained directly from strain gauge measurements and only expressions which are less likely to incur propagation errors are used. The efficacy of proposed expression of $s_{13}^{\text{E}}$ is critically analyzed by error analysis. A more practical average value for $d_{31}$ is also used. The refined property matrix is thus more accurate for use in the modeling of the performance of piezoelectric devices using the said crystal cut.
