We report a novel composite electron injection layer (EIL), Cs2CO3:Ag, for fabricating efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). When the composition ratio and thickness of the Cs2CO3:Ag layer were $1:10$ and 5 nm, respectively, a maximum current efficiency of 4.4 cd/A was achieved, which was 16% higher than that of the control device with a double-layer structure of Cs2CO3/Ag. The effect of the EIL composition on the current density and luminance has been investigated. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy was applied to analyze the interaction between the Cs and Ag atoms in the Cs2CO3:Ag film, and it was demonstrated that CsAg alloy was formed, leading to the improved device performance.
