We have demonstrated a highly efficient, long-lifetime waveguide dye laser using nanosized-particle-dispersed random scattering active media. An experimental laser slope efficiency of 38.6% and energy threshold of less than 1 μJ at a single longitudinal mode were measured. The operation lifetime of this laser device reached 6.5 million pump shots.
