Fullerene C60 and C70 mixture films on Ag(100) have been studied with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and low energy electron diffraction (LEED). In contrast to the recently found aperiodic incommensurate “(111)” phase of C60 on Ag(100), C70 formed a commensurate $c(6 \times 4)$ structure. Co-deposited C60/C70 mixture layers were examined as a function of controlled C60/C70 ratio. LEED showed that overall film symmetry evolved from “(111)” to $c(6 \times 4)$ as C60 density increased. In contrast, STM revealed that C60 and C70 distributions were highly non-uniform, with many prominent unidirectional wavy bright lines due to local C60 aggregation.
