We investigate spectral characteristics of light waves generated by broadband fundamental light waves using the sum frequency generation theory. First, we divide the fundamental light waves into $N$ sections as wavelength domains, and assume that all lights waves couple with each other, and the interaction can be described by SFG theory. The generated light waves can be considered as the sum of all SFG light waves. Next, due to the effect of cointeraction of $N$ fundamental light waves with atomic matter, two compensating functions are introduced into parameters of power flow and phase mismatching in SFG calculation. As a result, we obtain excellent agreement of calculated and measured spectra.
