A dispersive-type self-electrooptic-effect etalon, which consists of a Fabry-Perot etalon multiple quantum well modulator and an electrical feedback circuit, is proposed. Calculations show that the ON-OFF contrast is improved up to 9:1 due to the sharp etalon resonance. The effect of the mirror reflectivity and the absorption coefficient is also studied.
